At The Expressive Arts Institute we use art-making—movement, music, visual art, drama and poetry--as the basis of our dialog about our lives and our relationships with others. No prior art-making experience is needed. To register for a group or workshop, call 619-239-1713. CEU Credits are available where noted.

All groups meet at the Institute's beautiful studio space at NTC Promenade unless otherwise indicated.. Our new campus is located at 2820 Roosevelt St., Suite 204, San Diego CA 92106.

Introduction to Intermodal Expressive Arts with Judith Greer Essex -17 CEU's
• 3 days August 1, 2, 3 2008 9:00am-4:30pm • $340.00 includes all materials This three-day intensive Introduction to Intermodal Expressive Arts, gives participants a chance to explore Dance, Drama, Visual Art, Music and Poetry in a supportive and nurturing environment, at out beautiful Point Loma studio. We'll use low-skill, high-sensitivity methods for hands-on artmaking experience designed to expand your creativity and sense of play. You'll leave this three-day workshop with paintings, songs, poems, and characters CREATED by YOU. Judith will work experientially, to share some of her 36 years of arts based therapy experience with you, along with the current theories behind Expressive Arts Therapy. No experience necessary. Hours may be transcripted to institute masters program studies.

Feast of the Senses

The Summer Series Moon Dances: -13th season
• Scheduled Sundays 7:30-9:30pm • $15.00 Join us in our beautiful new Point Loma Studio space for for a gentle and joyful exploration of movement in a nurturing space. Each month we'll explore a theme emerging from the nearest full moon. No movement experience is necessary. Bring your body and your heart.

2nd Annual: CREATE/change:. a festival of the arts and imagination
• August 8, 9 and 10, 2008 • Watch our special events page for pricing and detailed schedule Celebrate summer with a different kind of festival. You're the star. You'll spend 4 evenings and three days immersed in art, imagination and play with San Diego's most experienced expressive arts faculty. Held in the Institute's beautiful PT. Loma facility, the festival will feature a daily schedule of workshops attended by all participants. We'll work in poetry and movement, music and visual art. The festival will also include an opportunity to show your work and performances. It's like a summer camp for grown-ups, without the lousy bunks. Registration is limited. Expressive Arts for Men and Women
• Reservation REQUIRED Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm • $160.00 per month Join this fun experiential group where you'll make a difference in your life through deep play in the arts! Sing, dance, drum, write, draw, sculpt, act and make your artist come alive. Facillitator Judith Greer Essex has over 30 years experience helping change lives and revitalize creativity through the arts. Don't settle for second-hand art!
